The TBTeek laser pointer
Okay so I’ve been testing a lot of toys that require Jade to have opinions and motivations. And to be honest, sometimes you just want something that works without negotiating with your cat. This week that thing was the TBTeek laser pointer. There is not a lot of mystery here, because I have never met a cat who doesn’t lose their mind over a laser.
These come in a two pack with a cute little metal tin carrying case and they have a nice handle grip and charge via USB which means no batteries to deal with. When you purchase, you can choose between silver or rose gold, and each color option comes in either red or green light so there are four combinations total.

This one also has different laser shapes
There’s one button to turn it on and then a scroll wheel that cycles through seven different laser patterns and when I say patterns I mean actual shapes, a star, a smiley face, a butterfly projected onto the wall, not just a dot. There’s also a flashlight mode and a UV light mode which I did not expect.
Jade was immediately obsessed which, again, laser pointer, not exactly a surprise. But the different patterns did seem to keep her more engaged than a regular dot would have because she couldn’t quite predict what shape was coming next.

My final verdict
For the price and the entertainment value this is genuinely a solid buy. Two pack means you’ve got a backup or one for each floor of your house. You can find them on Amazon (currently $12.99 at the time of this writing) and pick whichever color and light combination works for you.
